Nestled within the Appalachian Mountains of Maryland, you will find the stunning destination that is Garrett County, Maryland. A true, four-season resort location, Garrett County offers venturesome activities for everyone in the family. Whether you’re relaxing by Deep Creek Lake on a sunny day or gearing up for a hike in one of the nine state parks scattered throughout the county, our area’s rural, natural beauty and mountainous terrain make a perfect place to getaway during any season.

Being the western most county in Maryland, Garrett County seems to be in a world of its own, and is almost totally unaffected by the hustle and bustle of the neighboring cities. The area not only offers activities for adventurers, but for anyone with an array of interests. This place is full of history, arts, culture, education and much more!

Deep Creek Lake is one of the area’s finest gems, centrally located in McHenry, MD, offering refreshing water activities in the summer and providing the opportunity for ice-fishing in the winter when the lake has frozen! To the south of McHenry, is Oakland, MD; the area’s county seat and the hub for unique antique & local shops, taprooms and lounges, and community events. Plus, be sure to visit the museums and our old train station. To the north of the lake you will find Accident and Friendsville, both offering character of their own.

Garrett County makes a wonderful location for visitors being only a few hours from several major cities in multiples states. The proximity offers the opportunity for both week or weekend stays or last-minute getaways without the hassle of flight plans and long-distance traveling. The area will offer you endless adventures and an abundance of memories!

Directions to the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College

Washington, D.C.

From Washington, D.C.:driving time is about three hours. From the I-495 Beltway pick up I-270 North toward Rockville/Frederick, MD. From Frederick, exit onto I-70 West toward Hancock, MD. Then look for a left exit for I-68 West to Cumberland, MD. Stay on I-68 through Cumberland and take Exit 14A – Rt. 219 South. Follow Rt. 219 to McHenry. Make a left onto Mosser Road. Take a left at the Y onto Bumblebee Road; the college’s Continuing Education/GIEC parking lot (Lot A) is just ahead on the right or continue up Bumblebee Road to the main campus parking lot on the right (Lot B).

Baltimore, MD

From Baltimore: driving time is about three hours. From the I-695 Beltway pick up I-70 West toward Frederick/ Hancock, MD. Stay on I-70 through Frederick to Hancock, MD. Then look for a left exit for I-68 West to Cumberland, MD. Stay on I-68 through Cumberland and look for Exit 14A- RT. 219 South. Follow Rt. 219 to McHenry. Make a left onto Mosser Road. Take a left at the Y onto Bumblebee Road; the college’s Continuing Education/GIEC parking lot (Lot A) is just ahead on the right or continue up Bumblebee Road to the main campus parking lot on the right (Lot B).

Pittsburgh, PA via Morgantown, WV

From Pittsburgh: driving time is approximately two hours. If you choose to come via Morgantown, find I-79 South to I-68. Next, pick up I-68 East toward Cumberland, MD. Take Exit 4 at Friendsville, MD. Follow Rt. 42 South until you reach its end at Rt. 219 South. Follow Rt. 219 South to McHenry. Make a left onto Mosser Road. Take a left at the Y onto Bumblebee Road; the college’s Continuing Education/GIEC parking lot (Lot A) is just ahead on the right or continue up Bumblebee Road to the main campus parking lot on the right (Lot B).

Pittsburgh, PA via Uniontown, PA

From Pittsburgh: driving time is approximately two hours. If you choose to come via Uniontown, find Rt. 51 South to Uniontown, PA. Next, pick up Rt. 40 East until you reach Rt. 219 South. Follow Rt. 219 South to McHenry. Make a left onto Mosser Road. Take a left at the Y onto Bumblebee Road; the college’s Continuing Education/GIEC parking lot (Lot A) is just ahead on the right or continue up Bumblebee Road to the main campus parking lot on the right (Lot B).

Points Westward

From Morgantown: driving time is approximately one hour. Take I-68 East in Morgantown, WV toward Cumberland, MD to Exit 4 at Friendsville, MD. Follow Rt. 42 South until you reach its end at Rt. 219 South. Follow Rt. 219 South to McHenry.Make a left onto Mosser Road. Take a left at the Y onto Bumblebee Road; the college’s Continuing Education/GIEC parking lot (Lot A) is just ahead on the right or continue up Bumblebee Road to the main campus parking lot on the right (Lot B).

The Performing Arts Center at Garrett College (PAC) is wheelchair accessible and offers the following services to enhance the experience of guests with disabilities:

Assistive Listening Devices

Assisted listening devices are available upon request. Please request the assisted hearing device when purchasing tickets.

Parking

Free parking spaces for vehicles with valid DMV disability parking permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Restrooms

All restrooms in the PAC are wheelchair accessible. Ushers can direct guests to the nearest location.

Sensory-Friendly Spaces

The PAC is working to create sensory-friendly spaces for individuals with autism or other disabilities to enjoy performances. These spaces are in development and may not be available for all performances. Please contact the Box Office for more information.

Sign Language Interpretation

A sign language interpreter is available for any performance with at least three weeks advance notice. Requests may be made by emailing pac@garrettcollege.edu or calling (301) 387-3145. This service is subject to the availability of suitable seating and a qualified interpreter.

Wheelchair Accessible Seating and Entrances

The PAC has flexible seating and lifts available for easy access. Please request accessible seating when purchasing tickets. The ticket office staff is trained to help guests select the seating that best meets their individual needs.

The main entrance to the facility is equipped with power doors, each of the venues has an accessible entrance, and house managers can direct guests to the accessible entrance closest to their seat.
